Disney World Recap....

by - Tuesday, May 16, 2017

Let me just start by saying we had a WONDERFUL, MAGICAL, UNFORGETTABLE (in more than one way trip). Traveling with my husband is always a comedy of errors and we have a running joke that there is a BEASON curse with traveling. We never seem to be able to get anywhere without some sort of flight delay, lost bags, etc.

We had a 7 day trip (6 park days) planned to DISNEY WORLD which turned in 6....

We did a park a day and I believe this is the best way to do your trip in my opinion. We had one day at each of the 4 parks and then planned another day at Magic Kingdom and EPCOT.

The day we left we were expected to arrive at the Orlando airport at 6ish P.M. plenty of time to ride the Disney Magical Express to the hotel, get luggage and get cleaned up for dinner out RIGHT?!?! Well, our flights out of Shreveport got delayed and we arrived in Orlando at 1130 PM. Thankfully our luggage arrived at the hotel before we even did. It went on a separate flight and if you book though a Disney travel agent and get Disney Magical Express you don't have to fight baggage claim and getting your luggage Disney takes it to your resort for you.

We stayed at the Contemporary Resort which was wonderful because it had a Chef Mickey and the monorail we could grab at the rest for EPCOT and Magic Kingdom. To go to Animal Kingdom and Hollywood Studios we grabbed a bus.

Day 1....Magic Kingdom

We had fast passes for the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, Space Mountain and Peter Pan's Flight. Fast passes are awesome because you don't have to wait in line for rides. Once you use your 3 fast passes for the day you can continue making more.

We also road the Big Thunder Mountain, the Tea Cups, It's A Small World, Toy Story/Buzz Lighyear ride, Haunted Mansion and walked around the Swiss Family Robinson house. We of course enjoyed Mickey Mouse ice cream bars and watching the parade. We left the park about 730 to come back to the hotel to rest and get ready for a late dinner at our hotel. Dinner at California Grill was amazing and for sure a must when we go back.

Day 2...EPCOT

I love exploring all the countries at EPCOT....we spent the first part of the day at the front and then worked our way to the countries.

We had fast passes for Soarin', Meet the Characters and Mission:SPACE.

I really enjoyed SOARIN' the best...you sit in a seat and then it lifts you and you feel like you are gliding through different countries. We meet Minnie, Mickey and Goofy at the character spot and then Mission Space...fun fact it is 18 stories tall. They have added a fun little thing at the end which predicts your future with technology and such. We were at Epcot during the Garden Festival so there were lots of flowers and even a butterfly garden we walked through.

We explored some of the countries but I got a little sick so we returned to the hotel for the evening around 8.

Day 3-6 continued later....
