Classy Southern Texan

Happy Friday! As usual I am linking up with Andrea, Erika and Narci for another week of Friday Favorites! I can't believe EASTER is almost here!

I wanted to share a few EASTER basket goodies for all ages today! I am 31 years old and still love getting a chocolate Easter bunny on Easter Sunday!

1) William Sonoma and Pottery Barn

These are perfect item to add to anyone's Easter basket and they are sooo good! Right now you can get 20 percent off all Easter candy at William Sonoma!

I personally love their gummy candies but you can't go wrong with jelly beans! I got some for my dad!

Jelly Beans

Pottery Barn has some of my favorite Easter plates right now as does Pottery Barn kids! I am loving all the Peter Rabbit Stuff that is out right now!

3) Books for the book lover

I love Usborne books and books just in general.  I just finished reading The Wedding Date...it was super cute, a good chick lit read, but warning parts of it are rated R.

4) I am loving the BBG workouts and have a fun update coming soon to the blog...be looking for some healthy breakfast ideas on Wednesday and a recap of Week 1 of BBG. So far I have completed all 3 LISS workouts and 2 resistance workouts. I am a sweaty mess when I finish and loving the workouts so far!

5) Dry Shampoo

I am currently loving the Queen Bee Hippie dry shampoo. The lady who owns the company is local to the Shreveport/Bossier area and I recently tried her dry shampoo. It is not a spray it is more of a powder. NEVER EVER in my life have I been able to go 3 days without washing my hair!! OMG I love this product. You can order through her FB page.

I hope everybody has a wonderful weekend enjoying the warmer temperatures!

Today, I am liking up with Fancy Ashley from (http://www.fancyashley.com/) and Erika from (http://tabanderika.blogspot.com/) from Tuesday Talk. This is a fun link up where we talk about any and everything, whether it be fashion, books, recent shopping purchases or just everyday life!!

Who else here uses AMAZON PRIME? My husband and I about two years ago both decided that this yearly subscription was so worth it. I was at the time teaching and constantly ordering books from Amazon for the library. A student or parent would suggest a book and VIOLA within 2 days it would arrive on my desk at work. I call that a MAJOR win win!!!

Amazon Prime is so much more than a yearly subscription and getting things on your doorstep quickly. Did you know with your PRIME account you get Prime Photos, Videos, and Music? You can also create an audible account if you have a KINDLE and listen to books. Amazon seems to truly have it all figured out. For that I say give me all the praise hands!!!

I wanted to share some of my most recent AMAZON purchases with you.

BOOKS...

I was looking for a new devotional this year and after receiving many suggestions I got New Morning Mercies by Paul David Tripp. I love the short daily verses at the beginning of each day. He then goes on to say a couple of words and relates it all back to scripture. If you are looking for more time in the WORD he points you to further scripture reading. I have to say my book is highlighted, underlined and starred everywhere. This devotional is just so relatable to everyday living!!

COFFEE...

I wasn't a daily coffee drinker until I hit 30. Hello ADULT world! Now I love coffee in the morning and love it decaf in the afternoons especially on a chilly day. One evening at small group one of the members was using a milk frother and OMG I was hooked!! This simple little 14.99 milk frother I swear makes my coffee super yummy. Just a quick whirl and your coffee is whipped. It saves you the Starbucks run and also going to Bed Bath and Beyond because this one just magically appeared in my mailbox!!

HAIR PRODUCTS...

Since moving back to TX OMG my hair has changed so much. My hair dresser suggested multiple brands of shampoo and conditioner and nothing was working. I decided to go back to my orginial hair care routine expect ULTA and my local beauty shop didn't sell my brand of product. AH HA moment Amazon to the rescue.

What are some of your favorite AMAZON buys?!?!

I'm going to recap today what I have been reading and watching lately.

What I'm Reading...

Here's To Us...by Elin Hilderbrand

This is probably by 10th or so Elin Hilderbrand book. I love that they are mostly set on Nantucket a place that is on my bucket list to visit.

I loved that this book was about a chef...I am trying to learn to cook some new things. Deacon is the main character that the book is centered around. He passes away and it is a story about his 3 wives, children and how they all cope with his loss. I truly enjoyed this book and look forward to reading more Elin Hilderbrand books.

First Comes Love...by Emily Giffin

I have read several of Emily Giffin books some I have loved and others I haven't. I truly did enjoy this one and it was probably the best of the month. Without giving to much away it is about 2 sisters and a tragedy that strikes the family. You learn about the tragedy about midway through the book (wish I would of known sooner) and it is truly about how a family grows closer or grows apart through tragedy.

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child...by J.K. Rowling

Ok confession...I didn't read all of the Harry Potter books as a kid. I read up to book 4 or 5 I can't remember as an adult when I was a librarian. I mean we know Harry is going to live right?!?!

I didn't enjoy this book though because it was written as a play. I think it would be awesome to actually go see it live. It was neat to see Harry, Hermione, Ginny and Ron all grown up with children of their own. I did enjoy the element of suspense with Harry's son and seeing their relationship work itself out in the end.

Where'd You Go, Bernadette, by Maria Semple

This one I questioned as a read and it was a little hard to continue reading as many things I was left asking myself, "What just happened?" The story is based on a family the Mom (an architect), the Dad (works for Microsoft) and a daughter Bee. The mom goes missing and the family takes a trip to Antarctica to find her. I will just say it is one you have to read for yourself.

The Girl with the Lower Back Tattoo...by Amy Schumer

I laughed out loud of much in this book and thought many times really AMY?!?! I enjoyed the movie TrainWreck when it came out and enjoy Amy as a comedian. There were many sexual references in the story (prepare yourself). I enjoyed learning about Amy's family and her influences along the way in her life. It is a good quick read.

What I'm Watching....

The Real Housewives of Orange Country...OMG the episode this week.

So sweet...I had goosebumps watching as Shannon and David renewed their vows!
Kelly is crazy!!
Heather can you move into your house already?
Tamara damn you look good!
Megan...so excited for you to have a little one.

Last Chance U....this is a Netflix documentary about kids playing football who have faced hard times and learned because of it. It is just 6 episodes but sooo good.

What are you reading and watching lately?! Would love any suggestions! Have a great HUMP DAY!!!
