Classy Southern Texan

 Stranded with....Footwear Edition

Today I am linking up with Mix and Match Mama (Shay) and A Little Bit of Everything (Erika) for Stranded!

Today's edition is What 3 pieces of footwear would you take if you were Stranded on a Deserted Island?

1) Tory Burch flip flops
I feel like if I am going to be on an island I need to have a pair of flip flops with me for all those days I am going to wearing my swimsuit and laying out on the beach. I love this particular color of the Tory sandals because the color goes with everything.

2) Running-Walking shoes
I would want to get in some workouts right? I love my Saucony running shoes because they fit my narrow foot. I have run half marathons in them and they always fit right and get me through great cardio and resistance training sessions.

3) Hunter-Wellies
I figure there may be some rainy and cold days on the island. For these days I am going to want my Hunter boots. These would be great for fishing also to catch the food I will need to eat right?! I currently have Navy Hunter boots but am thinking about a red pair for this Fall-Winter. I don't wear my navy often because I wear so much blue anyways.

See you next time (September 14) for Movie edition. Because I am going to have a DVD player on this island to watch my favorite movies right?!

Congratulations to Michael Phelps on his big win last night!!! 21 gold medals WOW! How cute is his little boy also?! :-)

I'm linking up with Andrea for her series...Show and Tell Tuesday. Today's topic is school photos. I don't really have any school photos as they are all at home in Killeen with my parents. However, my best guy friend from high school the other day was cleaning out stuff at his parents and found this picture from high school. Talk about a flashback. Why did I think bright red lips with no eye makeup was ok. I look like a ghost lol!

I have been loving watching the Olympics this week. I particularly enjoyed watching Men's diving last night and loved that Stelle Johnson said this!

“Yeah, I’m Steele Johnson the Olympian, but at the same time I’m here to love and serve Christ. My identity is rooted in Christ.”

My 30th birthday started off very early at 6:15 A.M. #wakeup

The day before my birthday we went to Waco, TX and got cinnamon rolls and cupcakes from Magnolia Flour. I had a bite for breakfast before going on an early morning run.

Laced up and all ready to go...

After my morning run....3 miles for my 30th birthday!

Next, I went to get donuts and went to my grandparent's house...I had half a glazed and half a chocolate donut for an after run treat!

Then, it was timed to get showered and ready for the day.

I took some time to read...before lunch!

Headed to lunch at a local Greek restaurant with family and friends! #yummy #greek

I am a napper so after lunch I came home and rested for a while before dinner.

Before dinner we took some pictures in my parent's backyard...this is an annual tradition we have been doing for 10 years.

We went to dinner in Waco at Diamondback's. I had a fish with lump crab meat, a yummy wedge salad, and a red velvet cake for dessert!

Time for gifts!!! The hubby got me my first Prada purse! :-)

Calling it a night! It was a truly wonderful 30th birthday and I was with the one's I love most!

Today I am joining Erica, Narci and Andrea for Friday Favorites!

1) Today I am 30...how is that possible?! Here are some pictures from past birthday celebrations!

This is from my 21st birthday!!! With my super sweet hubby!

2) I have been enjoying a wonderful weekend in TX with my family!

I am so excited to enjoy my cupcakes from Magnolia Flour today!

3) I am hosting a baby shower this weekend for my sweet friends Chelsea and Lyle and cannot wait. I have know Lyle since the first grade...he gave me chicken pox. :-) I meet Chelsea in 6th grade on the first day of school and we were cheerleaders and have been friends all these years. Chelsea is one of those friends I can't talk to for a long time and we pick up right where we left off.

4) August....ahh birthday month!

My hubby and I are born one week apart...he is older and so August pretty much is a month long celebration!

5) Running...running has literally changed my life and I love it!! I did my 30 minutes of cardio this morning to kick off my birthday. :-)

A bonus...I am so excited for the Olympics to start tonight!! What is your favorite thing about the summer Olympics?!

Hope everyone has a great weekend! What is your favorite thing to do on your birthday?

Who doesn't love Chip and Joanna Gaines. I am sure many of you have seen their popular TV show Fixer Upper!

They both are Baylor graduates and live about an hour away near Waco, TX. I went to their original store on Bosque Avenue years ago and recently have visited just the silos. I went Black Friday...talk about insane.

Now they have a home line, bakery, and garden section. I am excited to head there today with my mom and get some yummy cupcakes and explore all the new changes at the SILOS. I know there will be lots of pictures to come.

I am so excited to visit Harp and Co. Spice shops, and Roots. If you are looking to plan a day trip to Waco...I would love to tell you more about what to do, where to eat, what to see, etc.

I personally love Vitek's (bbq) you have to get the Gut Pack and George's. At George's they are known for their chicken fried steak and Big 0 (a beer).

Yesterday (Tuesday) my mom, Aunt and I went to the annual Margarita Sale at Julian Gold in Austin, TX. This is something we look forward to yearly. They serve you margaritas while you shop! #Mexican #oleole

I got 2 really cute tops one Vince and one Hale Bob one of my favorite resort wear brands!

We ran into several of my Mom's friends also shopping the sale which was sooo much fun!

Next, we went to Barton Creek Mall and went to Nordstorm...hello anniversary sale! #nsale

I love love love the Zella athletic brand and it only goes on sale during their annual anniversary sale. I got this super cute sweater for when it cools down.

I have been looking for a plaid top for a while...so I got this one and can't wait to wear with skinny jeans and booties when it gets cooler. Come on FALL!

I also got some new bras...I think I have had my current ones about 5 years! #wow After seeing Bad Mom's this weekend all I could think was uh please no MOM bra lol!

Next, we headed to my favorite place to shop in Austin the Domain! They have lots of yummy restaurants, and great shopping! Neiman Marcus, Vineyard Vines, JCrew, Lilly Pulitzer, Tory Burch and Kendra Scott just to name a few.

We ate lunch at the yummy North! They have great salads, pizza and Italian pastas. I love their Zuppa chips also for an appetizer and light snack.

Then we went shopping!!! I went into Lilly, because a girl has to have a new Lilly dress for her 30th birthday right?!?! Which one did I choose? Check back this weekend for an update.
