Classy Southern Texan

Today I am linking up with Andrea, Narci and Erika for Friday Favorites.

1) SMALL GROUP

Since being back in TX I have reconnected with a friend from childhood who leads small group at her house. This past week I was able to have the opportunity to open up and let out all my feelings with these girls. I know they won't judge me and will love and help me during the tough times.

2) Rodan and Fields

I had fake eyelashes on and off for about the last 4-5 years. I LOVED them and used several different people throughout having them on. When I moved to TX I just didn't love the way they were looking so shortly after Disney I took them off. I started using Rodan and Fields Lash Boost this week and am truly loving it. It is so simple and easy to use. I apply it right after my morning shower, finish getting ready and apply my makeup last thing so it has time to set and dry. I am excited to see the results and will keep yall posted.

3) JCREW shorts

For several years I have been wearing the Jcrew 4 in shorts and have them in sooo many colors. They fit true to size and wash and wear very well. They are a simple, easy put on and go item and I always know they will work. :-) I wore them daily at Disney.

4) SUMMER TIME

I am ready for BBQs, time in the sun and just relaxing. I love Summer because there are so many fun celebrations. From Memorial Day to birthdays and 4th of July there is just something festive going on all season long.

5) BOOKS

I love reading Shay (Mix and Match Mamma's) monthly book review and just started Behind Closed Doors. For some reason I can't get it sync with my iPad so I have been reading on my phone but I am loving it sooo far.

Hi Friends...it is Tuesday and I am linking up with Andrea over at momfessionals for Show and Tell Tuesday. Today's topic is TRAVELOUGE...I am going to highlight some of my most recent fun vacations!!!

1) Disney World

Recently we went to Disney World. This was the first theme park experience my husband and I have had and we have been together 11 years (married 8). I enjoyed Disney as an adult. My favorite rides were Soarin (at EPCOT), Mt. Kilimanjaro (Animal Kingdom) and of course Space Mountain (Magic Kingdom). We enjoyed yummy food at California Grill (Contemporary Resort), Japanese at EPCOT and many many Mickey Mouse ice cream bars.

2) Alaska

June 2016 we went on a family cruise to Alaska with my inlaws, brother in law and then husband and I. It was so nice to escape the warm temperatures of Louisiana and Texas and explore Alaska. We saw bears, hiked a glacier and went dog sledding. We are returning in May of 2018 for another Alaskan adventure.

3) Vail, CO

Each year in either February or March my husband and I take a ski vacation to Vail, CO. My husband grew up skiing Vail. We know the mountain, village and restaurants and it is something we look forward to every year.

Let me just start by saying we had a WONDERFUL, MAGICAL, UNFORGETTABLE (in more than one way trip). Traveling with my husband is always a comedy of errors and we have a running joke that there is a BEASON curse with traveling. We never seem to be able to get anywhere without some sort of flight delay, lost bags, etc.

We had a 7 day trip (6 park days) planned to DISNEY WORLD which turned in 6....

We did a park a day and I believe this is the best way to do your trip in my opinion. We had one day at each of the 4 parks and then planned another day at Magic Kingdom and EPCOT.

The day we left we were expected to arrive at the Orlando airport at 6ish P.M. plenty of time to ride the Disney Magical Express to the hotel, get luggage and get cleaned up for dinner out RIGHT?!?! Well, our flights out of Shreveport got delayed and we arrived in Orlando at 1130 PM. Thankfully our luggage arrived at the hotel before we even did. It went on a separate flight and if you book though a Disney travel agent and get Disney Magical Express you don't have to fight baggage claim and getting your luggage Disney takes it to your resort for you.

We stayed at the Contemporary Resort which was wonderful because it had a Chef Mickey and the monorail we could grab at the rest for EPCOT and Magic Kingdom. To go to Animal Kingdom and Hollywood Studios we grabbed a bus.

Day 1....Magic Kingdom

We had fast passes for the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, Space Mountain and Peter Pan's Flight. Fast passes are awesome because you don't have to wait in line for rides. Once you use your 3 fast passes for the day you can continue making more.

We also road the Big Thunder Mountain, the Tea Cups, It's A Small World, Toy Story/Buzz Lighyear ride, Haunted Mansion and walked around the Swiss Family Robinson house. We of course enjoyed Mickey Mouse ice cream bars and watching the parade. We left the park about 730 to come back to the hotel to rest and get ready for a late dinner at our hotel. Dinner at California Grill was amazing and for sure a must when we go back.

Day 2...EPCOT

I love exploring all the countries at EPCOT....we spent the first part of the day at the front and then worked our way to the countries.

We had fast passes for Soarin', Meet the Characters and Mission:SPACE.

I really enjoyed SOARIN' the best...you sit in a seat and then it lifts you and you feel like you are gliding through different countries. We meet Minnie, Mickey and Goofy at the character spot and then Mission Space...fun fact it is 18 stories tall. They have added a fun little thing at the end which predicts your future with technology and such. We were at Epcot during the Garden Festival so there were lots of flowers and even a butterfly garden we walked through.

We explored some of the countries but I got a little sick so we returned to the hotel for the evening around 8.

Day 3-6 continued later....

What We're Eating This Week....

On my meal plan the last few weeks my trainer has had an egg muffin with either an egg added or jam. Talk about yummy!!! Today I am linking up with Narci, Andrea and Erika as I do some Friday's for today's edition of Friday Favorites....

At the end of March, my hubby and I closed on a house in Temple, TX and can I say how happy my heart is to be back in the great state of TEXAS!!!!

This week I have been busy painting the laundry room and getting the appliances delivered. The house was built in the 60s and things are just bigger these days...example the fridge and washer/dryer.

While the week has been busy I still find it very important to prep my meals and here is an example of my fresh veggies and rice cooking.

P.S. I am at my parent's and I love my all my mom's Mackenzie Child's pieces such as her teapot.

Thursday my mom and I took a quick girls' trip to AUSTIN, TX and I just love the butterflies at Neiman Marcus!!! Butterflies always remind me of my grandmother who passed in High School and she loved Neiman's so I always think of her when I see them.

I got a few cute dresses and some tops and pants at Banana Republic I will be sure to show later. :-)

Hope you all have a great weekend!!

XOXO
Kelli
